A Unique, Christian Philosophy of Education
|

Over a hundred years ago, a pioneer in Christian Education wrote: "Our ideas of education take too narrow and too low a range. There is need of a broader scope, a higher aim. True education means more than the persual of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come." (E G White, Education p 13) |

The philosophy and practice of Adventist Christian Education is founded on this core belief, and during the past 120 years this philosophical approach has been refined, developed and implemented in more than more than 7000 schools, 100 colleges and universities around the world. This global network of educational facilities is one of the largest Christian education networks in the World. While our network of schools is extensive, in each school, staff are dedicated to harnessing the physical, mental and spiritual powers of each child and young person in their care. We firmly believe that our blending of a Christian world-view, outlook and values with the state curriculum are designed to ensure that our pupils grow into mature, citizens with strong moral and spiritual values. Christian Education in an Adventist School is focused on academic excellence, the development of a healthy lifestyle, strong moral development and a commitment to service in the communities in which we live. In addition, there is the ultimate goal of drawing each pupil into a personal relationship with our Creator God.
